ZNBC Challenged
By Ruth Mwale
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga has challenged ZNBC to devise strategies that will enable the national broadcaster to stay afloat and be a leader in the media industry.
Mr. Malupenga says ZNBC should tap into its unique selling points to allow it attract more viewers and increase revenue.
Mr. Malupenga said this when he officially opened the Corporate Governance Training for ZNBC Board members and Senior Management in Lusaka.
The Permanent Secretary further said ZNBC should continue creating a platform that will give society a voice on both radio and television.
Mr MALUPENGA also noted that despite the ZNBC Act allowing the broadcaster to be independent, it should be done within the confines of the law.
And ZNBC Board Chairperson Juliana Mwila said there is need for the board and management to come up with creative ideas and innovations that will ensure that the company becomes financially viable in a competitive environment.
Ms Mwila said the corporation has modern equipment that can be used to generate revenue.
