ZNBC NEEDS QUALITY CONTENT – KASANDA

Information and Media Minister CHUSHI KASANDA says ZNBC requires quality content to effectively compete in the digital space.
Ms. KASANDA says content is key for any television station to attract viewers.
Speaking during a handover of three programmes from the Japanese Government, Ms. KASANDA said the content received will enhance ZNBC TV programing.
She said the programmes on the Japanese culture in Zambia will help strengthen relations between the two countries.
Ms. KASANDA said Japan has supported Zambia’s media development since the construction of the Mass Media complex which houses ZNBC, ZANIS and the Independent Broadcasting Authority.
She said the new dawn administration is committed to strengthening the relations and appreciates Japan’s support in media.
Ms. KASANDA said to date the Japanese Government has provided 51 programmes to Zambia from which the national Broadcaster has received seven.
And, Japanese Ambassador to Zambia RYUTA MIZUUCHI said Zambia and Japan have collaborated over the years in the promotion of the cultures of both countries.
Mr. MIZUUCHI said the provision of three documentary programmes is meant to promote culture and enhance content for ZNBC.
Meanwhile, ZNBC Director General MALOLELA LUSAMBO said government has provided an enabling environment for public media to engage various stakeholders to improve content.
Mr. LUSAMBO said the National Broadcaster requires content generation to meet its broadcasting mandate.
