NO UNCERTIFIED TEACHERS-TCZ
The Teaching Council of Zambia -TCZ- says it will soon start instructing public and private schools in the country not to employ uncertified teachers.
TCZ Registrar Ebby Mubanga says the council has over ONE Hundred and
FORTY-EIGHT Thousand registered teachers and has started processing licenses of 73-thousand of them.
Dr. Mubanga has urged every teacher in the county to apply for a practicing certificate to avoid being inconvenienced.
He says the council will also issue a Code of Ethics to registered teachers which will help in raising the status of the profession in the country.
Dr. Mubanga was speaking when he launched phase one of the issuance of the practicing certificate in Solwezi.
He said phase one of the launch covers five provinces namely North Western, Western, Southern, Northern, and Luapula while the remaining five will be done in the first quarter of 2019.
Earlier, he paid a courtesy call on North Western Province Permanent Secretary Ephraim Mateyo where he mentioned plans of decentralizing the operations of the council.
