National football team coach Wedson Nyirenda says the country’s participation in the upcoming four nations tournament set for March 24th will be difficult without the foreign based players.
Nyirenda says he is however happy with half of the 30 summoned players that have reported to camp.
He also says the absence of the Zesco United,Nkana and Zanaco players will have an impact on the team.
Nyirenda says despite only 15 players reporting to camp, the morale in camp is high.
He disclosed that there are a number of new call ups that are expected to join the team .
Nyirenda said this after the team’s morning training session.
He said the four nations tournament is important because it will give the head coach an opportunity to consolidate the team.
He said the game time will also help in player identification as well as check on fitness levels.
The team is expected to break camp on Wednesday March 14, 2018.
The four nations tournament will be held in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium from March 21st to March 24th.
The Participating nations are Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola and South Africa.
