President Edgar Lungu says the levels of fitness for defence and security personnel must never be questioned because they are the most disciplined officers.
The head of state says defence and security wings are the ones government always calls upon when the country is faced with challenges.
President Lungu cited the cholera outbreak that hit the country last year, and the current cyclone IDAI disaster in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
He was speaking shortly after taking part in the over ten-kilometer routine physical exercise in Chipata.
The President also participated in the aerobics organized by the Chipata Fitness club.
Earlier, President Lungu called on Chipata residents to take physical exercise as a way of being fit to avoid Non communicable diseases.
He says it is interesting to see many Chipata residents join in the exercise as it can help them gauge how fit they are.
And several residents praised the president for raising the bar in achieving a healthy nation.
