Minister of Labour Joyce Simukoko is happy that Japanese used car exporter Be Forward is creating employment for Zambian youths by opening three new offices in the country.
Speaking when Be Forward Company Limited officials from Japan and Zambia paid courtesy call at her office in Lusaka on Tuesday, Mrs. Simukoko said Zambians should take advantage of the move to gain more knowledge and the Japanese work culture.
She said the Japanese have a good work culture because her office has not received any complaints of labour issues from Japanese run companies in Zambia.
Mrs. Simukoko adds that this shows that Japanese managers respect Zambia’s labour laws.
And Be Forward Company Limited Auto Parts Group Marketing Office Representative Shogo Nishimura said the company is opening offices on the Copperbelt Province to provide an equal service to clients.
He said his company does not force Zambians to buy into the Japanese way of working but tries to fit into the local work culture and norms.
Mr. Nishimura said Be Forward has also started supplying second hand parts in addition to used cars because of their demand as they are genuine.
And Be Forward Director Samuel Kalinda said his company, a wholly owned Zambian firm has partnered with the Japanese firm to open branches in Lusaka.
