The Ministry of Health is yet to ascertain the parentage of the two babies, which were swapped after delivery at Ndola Teaching Hospital on the Copperbelt.
DNA samples from the babies and their parents have been collected for laboratory analysis, while the infants are still being kept at the hospital.
Ministry of Health Spokesperson, Abel Kabalo has disclosed this in a statement availed to ZNBC in Lusaka.
Last week, two women, with similar first and second names gave birth, under similar delivery procedures, resulting in their babies being swapped.
This happened at Ndola Teaching Hospital.
