U-17 GIRLS SHAPE UP FOR BOTSWANA

The U-17 Women National Team has stepped up preparations for Sunday’s Uruguay 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Botswana.

Coach Kangwa Kaluba is upbeat about his lasses’ chances against the Tswanas and shared with Fazfootball.com the team’s aspirations in the race to Uruguay.

He said that a precedent had already been set with the Zambia U-17 team qualifying to the World Cup in 2014 in Costa Rica.
Kaluba said that playing at home in the first leg would push the girls to perform better before home fans.

“We are happy with starting at home, because in the next round we would have grown in confidence and positive,” he said.

Zambia will host Botswana on Sunday at Sunset Stadium in the first leg before closing the tie away in Gaborone.

Winner over two legs will face South Africa in December in the next round.
