The United Kingdom Trade Envoy to Zambia Baroness Lindsay Northover says enactment of the Corporate Insolvency and Companies Acts will help boost investor confidence in Zambia.
Ms Northover says the two pieces of legislation provide security and protection to businesses.
She was speaking at a media breakfast in Lusaka today on the two laws’ implications on businesses.
And Ms Northover said the UK enjoys a special trade relationship with Zambia, citing bilateral trade of 167 million pounds recorded in 2016.
She said Zambia has a favorable and conducive environment for doing business.
And in his presentation, Justice Phillip Musonda called for fairness in enforcing the new pieces of legislation.
Justice Musonda a retired Supreme Court judge said the new Acts will provide transparency and accountability.
