Some Residents in Bahati constituency have called on the candidates vying for the Bahati Parliamentary seat to prioritize job creation and recreation facilities for the youths once elected into office.
Those spoken to by ZNBC said whoever will be voted into office should be in constant touch with government so that they can be channeling challenges people are facing to higher authorities.
Whiteson Loshi of Chikotwe Village in Chief Chimese’s area said youths in the constituency are now abusing alcohol because they have nothing to do.
He said there is need to open industries in the area so that youths can have work to do.
And Joyce Mpundu said the person who will be elected should engage the ministry of health so that more health facilities are built close to the people.
The Bahati constituency seat fell vacant after the expulsion of former PF Bahati member of Parliament Harry Kalaba for gross indiscipline.
Five candidates successfully fired in nominations with the hope of becoming the next Bahati parliamentarian.
PF is fielding Charles Chalwe while the opposition Alliance have settled for UPND’s Justine Bwalya,
Others are United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia’s Clement Mwila while People’s Alliance for change has settled for Isaac Lukwesa with Forum for Democracy and Development fielding Emmanuel Chanshi.
