Zambia has beaten Japan to win the 7th Edition of the Zambia-Japan Handball Friendship game held at the National Sports Council of Zambia in Lusaka.
Zambia who scored 24 to 22, was separated by two scores after a tightly contested game witnessed by dignitaries from both Countries.
And Japanese Ambassador to Zambia Hidenobu Sobashima is happy that the country has become a power house in the Sport.
Sobashima says Japan will continue to strengthen its bilateral ties with Zambia by sponsoring various sports disciplines.
He is also confident that Zambia will be among the nations that will successfully field in a Handball team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Meanwhile, Handball Association of Zambia- HAZ- President Bwalya Banda has thanked the Japanese government for supplying materials that have helped develop Handball in the country.
And National Olympic Council of Zambia -NOCZ- President Alfred Foloko called for the continued support of sports development in Zambia while National Sports Council of Zambia -NSCZ- Acting General Secretary Raphael Mulenga called for partnerships.
