Zambia will next week Wednesday host the first ever African Procurement Enterprise Development Summit in Lusaka.
The Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply-ZIPS- has announced that President Edgar Lungu is expected to grace the summit which will be attended by other African Heads of State and Representatives.
Speaking at a media briefing, ZIPS Acting President Noel Sandukila said the summit will discuss ways of enhancing supply chain among African countries.
Mr. Sandukila said the Summit will also focus on devising ways of promoting Small and Medium Enterprises-SMEs.
Meanwhile, Commerce Edge Chief Executive Officer Andre Coetzee said there is need to promote SMEs because they play a pivotal role in the country’s economic development.
