The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation -ZNBC- Management and the parties to the 2018 collective dispute have amicably resolved the matter through the process of conciliation.
The parties to the collective dispute are the Zambia Union of Broadcasters and other Information Disseminators -ZUBID- and the National Union of Communication Workers-NUCW.
ZUBID General Secretary Andrew Mpandamwike says the unions and ZNBC management have since agreed to start fresh negotiations for the 2019 collective agreement.
Mr. Mpandamwike has told ZNBC News that the union has since resolved not to drag ZNBC management to court as reported in some sections of the media.
And ZNBC Corporate Affairs Manager Yvette Chanda said ZNBC management and the unions resolved the labour disputes through the process of conciliation.
Mrs. Chanda said the conciliator has since deposited the Memorandum of the terms of settlement with the Industrial Relations Court and Office of the Labour Commissioner.
