ZNBC and the Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- have signed a 1 point 5-million-kwacha Memorandum of Understanding for tax payer education to enhance compliance.
Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today, ZNBC Director General Richard Mwanza said the corporation is equal to the task of disseminating information to the public which will enhance revenue collection.
Mr. Mwanza said increased revenue collection by ZRA helps government achieve social economic development which uplifts the livelihood of the people.
He further urged the ZRA to consider diversifying tax education in the seven local languages on various platforms on ZNBC TV and Radio.
Meanwhile, ZRA Commissioner Modernization and Corporate Strategy Dingani Banda said the Authority has decided to renew the MoU on tax education because it has started bearing fruit.
Mr. Banda said ZNBC is a key partner to achieve tax compliance.
He said the authority will consider having more programmes in local languages to reach all citizens.
